A drive belt is a highly technical product which also requires expert handling and precise equipment in the workshop. The performance and service life of a belt are dependent to a large degree on the proper belt tension. Experienced mechanics prefer to test the belt tension with their thumbs; however, it is often found that the results of these measurements vary.
