Data field

The data field contains the actual user data and can be up to 60 bytes (this corresponds to 7.5 times the CAN bus). It can be flexibly filled with synchronous and asynchronous data, where the synchronous data has priority:

 

The MOST bus uses a pulse frequency of 44.1 kHz. Digital video and audio devices also function with this frequency, so that a synchronous transmission of media data is possible. Synchronous means that the data to be transmitted must not be buffered before the transport on the bus and therefore can be transmitted in real-time. All other data is buffered for a short time if necessary and therefore transmitted asynchronously.
