Radio communication networking
A person today often uses several such devices (e.g. PDA, laptop and cellular phone) which are networked with each other with the Bluetooth-Standard and can exchange data with each other without cumbersome cable connections. Most recently motor vehicles have also been incorporated into this network. For example, Audi uses this technology in the A8 (as of model year 2003) for wireless connection of the mobile handset for the telephone and the corresponding control unit.
In the near future further applications are expected:
- Installation of a second mobile hand set in the rear.
- Connection of the automobile user's notebooks, smartphones and notepads to the Internet for transmission of information and conversation.
- Sending and receiving e-mails via the user's notebook or PDA.
- Sending address and telephone numbers from a user's notebook or PDA to a Multimedia-Interface, MMI
- Hands free cellular telephone without additional cable adapter.
- Use of other vehicle systems, e.g. remote control of the heating system
