Introduction
"Bluetooth" is not such a strange term, since this technology is named for a Viking king whose nickname was Bluetooth. He was famous for uniting Denmark and Norway in the 10th century. Since Bluetooth also networks the most diverse information, data processing and mobile telephone devices together, it is named after this Viking king.
The initiator of the Bluetooth technology, the Swedish company Ericsson, surely had a part in this. They began with the development of the standardised short-range radio system. Today the "Bluetooth Special Interest Group" (SIG) has around 2000 companies world wide in the telecommunication, data processing and equipment and automobile manufacturer branches. Parallel to this it is used in very diverse areas (such as in computer technology or mobile telephone systems).
