FTDMA process
The asynchronous messages are arranged in a time slot reserved for them. Here it is important that a synchronous message only takes up a full time slot if the message is also to be actually transmitted. This has the advantage that the band widths available in the TDMA process can be used flexibly and very effectively for both types of messages (synchronous and asynchronous). In byteflight the access process for the bus is also known as "Flexible Time-Division-Multiple-Access, FTDMA access". The cycle time (time between the synchronisation impulses) is 250 microseconds.
